Christians have rights too

Throughout the world, Christians are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. In Asia, Africa, and throughout the Middle East, Christian men, women and little children have been imprisoned, tormented, or had their bodies beheaded based on their faith in Christ alone. In some Communist nations, Bibles are forbidden. Karl Marxs, who is the face of communism, once stated, “My objective is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism” since Christians relied on God and not government.
In America, Christians are also targeted by those who disagree with the moral standards, laws, and traditions of the Word of God. The IRS purposely targeted Christian and Conservative organizations. For years, the homosexual community has fought against Christianity to present homosexuality as “normal, natural, and healthy.” Homosexuality is forbidden throughout the Bible in both the Old and New Testament, specifically in Leviticus 18:21-22, Leviticus 20:13 and Romans 1:26-27. God once destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, Genesis 19:1-13, due to their unnatural and sinful behavior, which is where the term “sodomy” comes from. The apostle Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament, listed homosexuals among “the unrighteous” who would not inherit the kingdom of God , 1 Corinthians 6:9
Over the past decade, the homosexual community fought against Christianity for “acceptance” and labeled those who opposed homosexuality as “intolerant” and “bigots”. The homosexual community pushed for “civil unions” and once they achieved this goal, moved to change God’s definition of marriage between a man and a woman to include homosexuality.
Now the homosexual community is using their power to silence Christianity in America. While the homosexual community can seek out any business, they are purposely seeking out Christian businesses to shut them down. They are forcing Christian businesses to compromise their faith by providing services or face legal litigation.
In Oregon, the owners of “Sweet Cakes by Melissa”, a Christian bakery, were willing to sell cakes to anyone regardless of their sexual orientation. However, they refused to bake a wedding cake for a homosexual ceremony since it went against their Christian beliefs. Instead of finding another bakery, the homosexual couple filed a discrimination lawsuit against the bakery eventually forcing the Christian couple to close its business due to legal proceedings and threats of harm to them and their children.
Shouldn’t Christians have the right, based on their faith, to not participate in a sinful ceremony without facing litigation? Should a Christian filmmaker be forced to make gay porn? Should a black bakery be forced to cater an event for the KKK? Should a Muslim barber be forced to cut the hair of a lesbian?
In a free country, business owners have every right to refuse services to anyone he wants. A government mandating businesses to serve others against their faith or belief is the opposite of freedom. Where is the line drawn between one person’s right and another person’s faith?
As the homosexual community gains more power, the rights of Christians will continue to be attacked. Already preachers are being told they can not speak about homosexuality as a sin in the Bible. In Houston, the lesbian mayor subpoenaed the sermons of pastors, who spoke against homosexuality, to label them as “bigots”. The subpoena was eventually dropped due to a public outcry of intrusion by the government.
Jeran Artery, a gay activist, is pushing for churches that do not support homosexuality to lose their tax exempt status. He wrote, “Churches that lobby to have freedoms and rights taken away from ANYONE should absolutely have their 501(c)3 status revoked!!”
Those that spoke of tolerance for their own rights are intolerant of those who are religious. They want to shut down Christian’s Freedom of Speech and squelch Freedom of Religion by shutting the churches down and silencing Christians.
Jesus warned in John 15:18-19, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”
All around the world, Christians are persecuted, insulted, driven out of business, tortured, and beheaded because of their faith.
Those that asked for tolerance have become intolerant against Christians and forget to remember that in America, Christians have rights too.
