Death Penalty: A Constitutional Right

Adria Sauceda was a 16 year old girl, who had her life cut short after she was kidnapped, raped, and brutally murdered by Humberto Leal, who was in America illegally. When young Adria’s body was found, her skull had been crushed by a 30-40 pound rock with blood spattered around her body. She had bite marks on her cheek, neck, and chest and her right eye had been poked out. A 14-16 inch broken stick with an attached screw had been stuck into her private area, which investigators determine she was alive during the insertion. One prosecutor described the scene as “I’ve never seen that kind of mutilation of the body.” There was no shortage of evidence and Leal was found guilty of murder and lost every appeal to avoid the death penalty of murder under special circumstances of this hideous act.

On July 7, 2011, Leal was rightfully executed and admitted to the murder of Adria; but not before President Obama attempted to stop the execution based on International Law, ignoring the due process in the U.S. Constitution, the right of the state, and the emotion of the victim’s family. Obama appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court to stop the execution, which the court denied by a 5-4 decision with all four liberal justices ignoring the U.S. Constitution, attempting to impose International Law and legislate their own liberal philosophy from the bench to have International Law supersede the U.S. Constitution and remove the death penalty. Liberals have been slowly removing the death penalty from society. They have mocked the justice system and clogged it with numerous state and federal appeals. They removed previous forms of execution claiming it was inhumane, which caused many states to use lethal injections. Liberals in California are attempting to remove the death penalty claiming it costs too much money, sparing the lives of most hideous murderers, including Richard Ramirez, known as the “Night Stalker” and Richard Allen Davis, who kidnapped and brutally murdered Polly Klass. The liberals established the high cost system of numerous appeals only to now use it as an excuse to dismantle the process, ignoring justice for the victim’s family.

Obama’s agenda is to remove the U.S. Constitution as the “Supreme Law of the Land” and force America to abide by International Law. Even President George W. Bush was wrong in 2005, when he agreed with an International Court of Justices allowing 50 other individuals born outside of America to be granted new trials to determine if their consular rights were violated, which the Supreme Court overruled.

While Obama could have pardoned Leal or commuted the sentence, he would have faced a backlash from the American people. He, instead, will stack the court with liberal judges who will advanced his socialist agenda progressing toward an international government bound by international laws, shredding the U.S. Constitution and the rights of the American people. If he has his way next time, the murderer will not be executed.
